Memories of a City

Having grown up in Liverpool, England, you would think that I would have a good understanding of what to visit on a trip to my birth place. Yet, this is not quite what happened when I was approached by a friend that was travelling there last year. The city has undergone such extensive construction that it no longer resembles anything vaguely familiar to the years that I spent there in my childhood. While the streets and the general lay out are the same, the small corner shops have long been traded in for larger chains; I guess this is just another consequence of civil growth.

Since I was unable to suggest anywhere for my friend to stay on his trip, I did a quick search for hotels at Liverpool airport, since I was trying to find him accommodation that would be easy to locate as soon as he landed. There were some great hotels mere minutes from stepping out of the front doors of the airport, making my decision quite easy. Furthermore, the services that were available at a few of these hotels were amazing. I began to read into a few of them, nearly convincing myself that I should return to my birth place as a result. Although I would love to go, since Liverpool is a wonderful place to visit, I feel as though I would merely be reflecting on past experiences. While this could be enjoyable at times, I think it would prohibit me from full appreciating the city that Liverpool has become. For this reason, I will let the memories of Liverpool exist in my mind as they currently do.

If you are considering Liverpool as a travel destination, you should know that there are plenty of other cheap hotel Liverpool centre options available. I only suggested the hotels near the airport, since they were so easy to locate.
