Know More About Carpet Cleaning

We all have managed to stain our upholstery or rugs. After all, this is the easiest thing to do! That is why it is important for us to know how to remove stubborn spots and other residue from our rugs.

The first thing to do is to look the label of the fabric, the carpet was made of. This will advice you for the most suitable cleaning solution for the carpet.

Here is what the letters on the ticket mean:

W – You’d better use a water based carpet cleaning solution or a mild detergent. Here, most of the work will be done by the foam and you do not have to worry to brush or to participate in any other, effort consuming way in the cleaning.
S – You have to use a cleaning solvent to deal with the stain. However, you may need to perform the procedure in well ventilated room because the rug would easily catch water stains.
SW – cleaning can be performed using either water-based foam or a solvent.
X – This sort fabric does not allow any cleaning and if you stain it, it is most unlikely to deal with the spot. So, your only chance to achieve a decent carpet cleaning result is the vacuum cleaning.

Dealing with any excess residue.

If you notice a spill on your upholstery or carpet, try to remove as much of the liquid as you can. This can be easily done by simple blotting or vacuuming. However, if the spot has already dried, try to scrub it with a knife or with some kind of a brush.

Test the cleaning solution.

You’d better be 100% sure that the solvent is completely harmless to the fabrics of your rug. So, do not put all your eggs in a single basket pouring some of the cleaner directly on the carpet. You may want to test it on a hidden area first. This way you will skip any problems and unpleasant situations.

Once you are sure in the quality of the the cleaner you are up to use, simply apply it on the spot and wait for it to do its magic. This should get you rid of the grease or caramelised sugar containing stains.

So, if you want to perform a quality and safe carpet cleaning, you’d simply have to stay focused and read carefully. From here on, it is all up to your bare hands and will.
However, if you are determined to remove the stains but you are busy to do it yourself, just hire professionals.
