Upcoming Wembley Stadium and Arena Events

There’s a lot happening in Wembley this spring and summer with several major sporting events, concerts and festivals on the 2011 schedule. Here is a preview of some of the highlights in store for the next several months at Wembley Stadium and Wembley Arena.

The UEFA Champions League Final match will be played on 28 May in Wembley Stadium. It appears the Man United has all but secured their place in the match against the prevailing Spanish team. Thousands of fans are expected to descend upon Wembley for what promises to be a very exciting battle for the title.

Also at Wembley Stadium this summer will be the record-breaking 8-performance concert series featuring a reunited Take That, the pop group that achieved super-stardom in the 80’s with a string of hit singles and albums. Robbie Williams has rejoined the group and the highly anticipated series of performances will run from the 30th of June through the 9th of July.

At Wembley Arena, there will be several major concerts, festivals and other events, most notably perhaps, will be the return of the One Love Peace Festival after a 20 year hiatus. This event, which will occur on July 31st, will feature some of the hottest Reggae performers paying tribute to Bob Marley, who passed away 30 years ago. Artists include Busta Rhymes, Aswad, Sean Paul, Third World and several other top Reggae groups laying down hot Jamaican riddims and positive vibrations.

These are just a few of the events happening in Wembley this year. Check the Wembley Arena and Wembley Stadium websites for more information on these and other events and for ticket info. If you’re planning on attending any of these events, it’s time to secure your reservations for rooms in hotels near Wembley Arena or hotels near Wembley Stadium.
