To Green or not to Green?

Although I typically do not recommend the usage of vehicles while on vacation, there are certain instances where it is truly beneficial. For instance, if you are travelling to Germany, you will not require your own mode of transportation, since that particular country has one of the most extensive public transit systems known to man. Yet, if you were to travel to such a place as Sardinia, a smaller island located in close proximity to Italy, you may want to consider renting a vehicle for your stay. This is not to say that Sardinia does not have a public transportation system, but that it is not as user friendly as those that can be found in larger cities. The public transit system that they currently do have will get you nearly anywhere that you want to go, but you may have to wait a little bit longer. If this is not an issue for you, please go with the greened option.

Since I had quite a few conferences to attend while in Sardinia, I really did not have the option of using the public transportation system. Instead, I was able to obtain information on renting a car from my Hilton hotel Sardinia. They were able to provide me with a few different options. I eventually decided to go with a company that was more environmentally friendly than the other one, as they were in the process of converting all of their rentals to hybrids. The staff at the Doubletree hotel Sardinia also provided me with information pertaining to local traffic laws; it is essential to familiarise yourself with these when you are abroad. Needless to say, with the help of my hotel staff, I was able to attend all of my conferences on time and effortlessly.
