Stansted to Tenerife: Summer 2011 Holiday Destinations

This summer’s holiday season is almost upon us and it’s time to begin planning your own personal sun-drenched seaside adventure. There are dozens of great destinations served by the low-cost airlines at Stansted Airport, but if you haven’t yet had the chance to explore Tenerife, perhaps you should give it some real consideration.

Tenerife is the largest of the 7 Canary Islands, and the most popular for tourists. There are miles of beaches and plenty of opportunities for outdoor sports enthusiasts, sun-worshipers, shopaholics and clubbing fans. Tenerife’s nightclub scene is legendary, with almost non-stop dancing available in hotspots all over the tourist areas. For seafood lovers, Tenerife is paradise, there are hundreds of restaurants serving fresh hand-caught fish in amazing variety and prepared in many different ways.

The natural beauty of Tenerife is unsurpassed in Europe, it is truly a tropical paradise with volcanoes, rugged scenic mountains, gorgeous coastlines, green forests and deserts. The variety of activities and sites of interest are almost limitless. Surfing, biking, hiking, fishing, scuba diving and golf – all are found in Tenerife.

One of the biggest carnival celebrations is held in Tenerife, second only to the Rio de Janeiro carnival in size. The weather, even in carnival season is mild – Tenerife never gets too hot or too cold, making it a perfect year-round destination. In the summer the temperature never reaches the extremes of southern mainland Spain, due to the constant sea breezes.

When planning your Tenerife getaway, don’t forget to book a Stansted park and fly package, such as those offered by Hilton and other Stansted Airport hotels. You’ll be able to take advantage of safe, covered airport hotel parking Stansted Airport itself can’t offer. Also, you’ll get a good night’s sleep the night before departure without the hassle of driving to the airport early.
