Rod Stewart to Headline Hard Rock Calling’s Sunday Evening

The Hard Rock Calling festival has a special treat lined up for its Sunday night slot: Rod Stewart. Yes, the perennial rock star will headlining June 26th performances at London’s Hyde Park. We’ve got our tickets, have you got yours?

Announced on the event’s webpage on March 7th, Stewart is expected to play a number of his back catalogue. With hit songs including, Maggie May, You Wear It Well, You’re In My Heart, Da Ya Think I’m Sexy, Sailing and Baby Jane, the June 26th performance promises to be unforgetable, seeing as it the first time the artist has taken part in the annual rock festival.

Started in 2006, Hard Rock Calling (formerly Hyde Park Calling) was created with the intent of seeing great rock & roll celebrated in the heart of the city. Using Hyde Park as its backdrop, the centrality of the festival’s position was key to the launch: where British music festivals usually to the fields outside of the city centre, organizers chose the site due to its proximity to residences and London city centre hotels.

While the inaugural edition of the festival saw only two stages set up and The Who headline, 2011 plans to see acts such as The Killers, Bon Jovi, Stevie Nicks and Mr. Rod Stewart spread across as three days.
