Park Lane High Society

A place having witnessed a kaleidoscope of events rich with cultural embalming as well as great historical presence is what can be summed up in one line in order to describe Park Lane, London. This place brims with vitality and still reflects the mystery and aura it would have had back in the eighteenth century.

The Park Lane, London, became a place for the up-market people back then and saw many mansions lining up the pastoral boundary which was in line with Hyde Park; it saw a lot of changes and became a busy road with the Lane being widened to accommodate three lanes. This place houses some of the ministers, luxury hotels and was even famous among Governors and Dukes who had set up their homes here.

Park Lane is the second most expensive and classy property in London after Mayfair which comes towards the eastern end of Park Lane. It also houses the memorial to ‘Animals in War’ and gates honoring the Queen and the Queen Mother can be seen towards the south end; Park Lane runs along the length of the Hyde Park towards the eastern flank. All of the commercialization and development led to the presence of  the posh five star Park Lane hotel London that cropped up here around the turn of the last century.

Hyde Park, which is delimited by Park Lane, is a large park, divided by the Serpentine Lake, which adorns central London and is a must on everyone’s wish list of places to visit in London. Hyde Park Corner, which comes towards the south east corner outside the park, is where the tube station is, and this place houses many celebrated monuments and memorials; the tube station is easy to reach from any Park Lane hotel.

There are many exemplary statues at Hyde Park and great sculptures line the walk which starts at the Marble Arch. The Marble Arch was an inspiration of the Constantine Arch in Rome and was built in the year 1828; it formed the main entrance to the Buckingham Palace earlier but was later shifted to adorn and titivate the entrance of the Hyde Park.
