Park Lane and its Pleasures

Traveling to the city of London, England, a priority destination should be its borough, Westminster. The location of many of England’s most prestigious landmarks, including Big Ben, Parliament Square and the 775 room estate of The Queen of England, Buckingham Palace.

Only a minute’s walk from all of these landmarks is Park Lane, one of England’s most upscale areas, housing some of England’s nicest mansions. Similar to LA’s Rodeo drive, Park Lane also offers England’s “Premium shopping Experience” with yet more jaw dropping shopping on Regent, Bond and Oxford Streets. Also on Park Lane are England’s most luxurious hotels all rated five stars making it an easy trip to some of the world’s best shopping. Park Lane hotels are chique, decadent, and opulent. It’s really easy to slip into the lap of luxury at any of the great Park Lane hotel. Park Lane is a few minutes walk from many prime attractions in Westminster and several tube stations

Westminster also houses three Royal Parks, Green Park, Hyde Park and St. James Park. Westminster’s Royal Parks are a must see and only a few minutes walk from Buckingham Palace, they offer a wide variety of attractions.

Green Park, home to some of the oldest trees in Europe, is rumored to once have been a burial ground for lepers for the nearby St. James Hospital. Every weekend, Green Park plays host to bandstands, where live musicians perform.

The month of June is especially busy in St. James Park with many special occasions such as State Visits, The Queen’s birthday June 21, and royal Anniversaries. During these events, the English Military marks these special events with 41 cannon salutes and Horseguard Parades. During a horseguard parade, regiments of horse-mounted soldiers circle around their regiments’ colors in formation. This exercises harkens back to the days when soldiers used their colors as a rally point to group together during battles.

Whether you’re an architecture fan, a history buff, or a shopaholic Westminster’s Park Lane area is close to it all with hotels that are second to none.
