Make the Change

This is just a quick note of caution for anyone that is thinking of travelling to the United Kingdom, or anywhere for that matter. Make sure that your cell phone is not roaming the entire time that you are abroad, or you may get a hefty bill. This happened to me about three months ago. I decided to bring my cell phone along with me, as we weren’t quite sure which of the London hotels near Olympia we would be staying at. It was more of an emergency contact for my children than anything, but silly me forgot to change the roaming settings. The thing must have been roaming for days, causing my cell phone bill to reach an unheard of amount. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I received my bill in the mail. I thought that someone had stolen my number, or hacked into my cell phone or something. I have always been pretty careful not to go over the amount of minutes that I have on my contract, and this was just unreal.
I don’t know how cell phone companies get away with charging for roaming, as they aren’t really providing any sort of services. Yet, I suppose, there is some clause in the contract that I signed that stated I agree to all the terms and conditions; you really should read these contracts closely. Anyway, I did enjoy our trip. The (london hotels near Olympia) were absolutely gorgeous, especially our (hotel tower bridge London). I had never heard of the hotel Tower Bridge London prior to our trip, but I would strongly suggest it to anyone that is looking to travel to the U.K. Just make sure to change the settings on your phone prior to leaving. Otherwise, you will find yourself in the same boat that I was in, and that is not a very pleasant one to be in.
