How to Remove Tomato Sauce Stains from a Carpet

Tomato sauce can leave unsightly stains when spilled on a carpet. Except nasty, these stains are very tough to remove as well. It is advisable to take care of any tomato sauce spills immediately if possible. The sooner you attend to these stains, the better chances you have to remove them completely from your carpet. There are a few easy and efficient ways to clean up stains caused by tomato sauce, and here are some recommended by carpet cleaning Parsons Green:

  1. Grab a spoon and gently scoop up as much tomato sauce from the carpet as possible. Work from the edge of the stained area towards the centre to prevent unwanted spreading of the stain. Soak up the rest of the juice using a white cloth or paper towels. Pour a small amount of cold water onto the stain and blot once more with another clean cloth. Spray white vinegar onto the stain using a spray bottle, and let it soak into the carpet for about 20 minutes. Use cold water to rinse the area and blot dry.
  2. To remove tomato sauce stains, you can try club soda. The bubbles into the club soda will lift the stain leaving no residue on the carpet. Pour some club soda onto the stain and wait for the bubbles to do there work. Then rinse the carpet with cold water and blot dry.
  3. Apply a mixture of 3 tablespoons of cold water and 1 tablespoon of hydrogen peroxide to the stained area. Allow the mixture to sit on the carpet for 10 minutes, then rinse with cold water and dry the area by blotting with a clean rag.
  4. Apply a few drops of lemon juice directly to the stained area. Rub the area gently with a wet sponge, then rinse with cold water.
  5. Use a solution of 2 cups of cold water and 1 teaspoon of dish detergent to remove tomato sauce stains from your carpet.

If none of the above solutions help, consider using professional help such as carpet cleaning Parsons Green provides.
