How to Remove Set-in Stains from Carpet

Carpets make a home look more appealing, but they can be a real challenge to be kept clean. Stains are the thing that you will have to deal with most often during the life of your carpet, but sometimes this task could be not as easy as it might seem, especially if the stains have been allowed to dry and set into the carpet fibres. Fortunately, there are simple and effective methods that can help you to remove even the most stubborn stain from your carpet. Follow these tips to learn how to remove set-in stains from carpet in a quick and efficient way.
Instructions

  1. For stains caused by dirt, soda, fruit juice and for any other water-soluble stains, cleaners Paddington suggest using a solution of ¼ teaspoon of white vinegar and 1 quart of water. Pour some of the solution directly on the stained area and let it soak into the carpet for a few minutes. Then, use an absorbent towel to blot up the solution and the stain from the carpet. Wait for the carpet to dry completely, then examine the affected area for any remaining traces of stain. Repeat the process if necessary.
  2. If the above solution doesn’t help to remove the stain completely, add 1 tablespoon of ammonia to it and try again. Pour the solution on the stain and blot repeatedly with a clean cloth until the blemish is gone. For white carpets, you can use bleach instead of ammonia. Do not mix ammonia with bleach, as the chemical reaction between these two products causes extremely toxic fumes that can cause even death. When using bleach, cleaners Paddington recommend testing it on an inconspicuous area of the carpet first to make sure it doesn’t cause any damage.
  3. Use heat to get rid of oil-based stains. For instance, heat the stain with a hair dryer and then blot with paper towels. Another option is to lay a paper towel over the stain and then run over it with an iron set on low.
  4. For very stubborn stains, you may need to use a steam cleaner. You can rent a steam cleaning machine from almost any hardware store. This powerful machine – used by many professionals, including cleaners Paddington, to remove a numerous type of stains – can help you to deal with the set-in stain in your carpet when nothing else helps.

If you are in the middle of a move out, you may not have time to clean your carpet. If so, you can use end of tenancy cleaning Paddington services to take care not only for the cleanliness of the carpet but of the entire house as well.
