How to Move with Cat? Settle In

We’ve already discussed how you can prepare your cat for moving and how to help him/her to survive the moving day. What is next? This article is dedicated to few things that will ease your cat’s settling in.

There is no doubt that you’ve passed through the most difficult parts of a move with a cat but you still shouldn’t overlook settling in because it hides a lot of risk for your beloved. So what could you do to help your pet to adapt to a new environment?

Settle in

1. Keep your cat into his/her carrier

Of course, you shouldn’t do that forever, only until movers from removal company London finish unloading your stuff. It’ll be better if you could leave your pet in an empty room where movers won’t go in and if you ask you kids to stay with him/her. This option has two big benefits – your kids will stay away of moving crew (this will help to reduce incidents) and your cat will feel much better if there is a familiar face near him/her.

2. Let your pet familiarize with this room

After movers finish their job, it’s time you took care of your cat. Have a look at the room where you left it. Is there anything dangerous? Close well all doors and windows, bring your cat’s stuff and open the carrier. Your beloved might be still afraid to go out of it so give him/her some time. It’s a good idea to offer him/her some food, water and treats. Gradually your pet will begin to scout out the new area. Keep the cat in this room for a couple of days until you finish unpacking and he/she get used to the new house.

3. The rest of the property

Did you unpack everything? Then it’s time you let your cat explore and the other rooms. Don’t open all doors in the same time because it could be a bit too much for your pet. Let him/her go in a new room each day and keep an eye on him/her while he/she is scouting out the new area.

That’s all. You’ve successfully passed through all steps of removals London with your cat. Now you should only enjoy your new home.
