How to Make Natural Cleaning Solutions

People spend a lot of money on cleaning products without knowing that there is an easy and inexpensive way to clean their homes. Natural cleaning solutions are easy and inexpensive to make, and compared to the commercial cleaners that might contain chemicals, they will effectively clean your home in a toxic-free manner. To make such a natural cleaner, you will need nothing more than several household items, such as baking soda and white vinegar.

  1. A solution of 1 cup water and 1/8 cup of white vinegar is an effective glass cleaner. Use it as you would with a commercial glass cleaner.
  2. Use baking soda to clean sinks, pans and pots. Sprinkle some baking soda on the desired surface, and scrub with scouring pad. Use clean water to rinse.
  3. Pour ½ cup of baking soda, followed by ½ cup of white vinegar into the kitchen drains to clean them. Wait for a quarter hour and pour boiling water down the sink.
  4. Sprinkle a mixture of 1 teaspoon of tea tree oil and 1 cup of baking soda on the bottom of your garbage pail to deodorize it.
  5. Mix 2/3 cup of white vinegar with 2/3 cup of flour, then add ½ cup of table salt to the mixture. Use the solution to clean brass and copper.
  6. To make your own natural laundry detergent, add 3 oz of ivory soap to 5 cups of water. Place the mixture on stove and wait for the soap to melt completely. Once all of the soap has melted, pour the mixture into a 5-gallon jug and add 3 gallons of hot water. Shake the jug to mix the ingredients. Dissolve ½ cup of washing soda into the mixture, then add 1 cup of Borax. Seal the jug and store it in an appropriate place.
