How to Make a Homemade Bathroom Cleaner

Commercial cleaners have two major disadvantages, they are expensive and most of them contain harsh ingredients that can be harmful to those with weak systems such as children and pets. Fortunately, these both problems can be solved with a homemade bathroom cleaner. By using natural and inexpensive ingredients, you can easily make your own bathroom cleaner, just follow the instructions bellow.

  1. Make sure you have the following items on hand: baking soda, white vinegar, plastic bowl, spray bottle and rubber gloves.
  2. Combine vinegar and baking soda in a plastic bowl to create a thick paste. Use the paste to scrub any surface of your bathroom that has soap scum or other though-to clean stains. Put rubber gloves to protect your hands before applying the paste. This paste can also be used to remove stains from carpets, just make sure that your carpet is not made of delicate materials that require professional carpet cleaning services.
  3. For an antibacterial spray, make a solution of vinegar and baking soda in an amount enough to complete one day of cleaning, otherwise the mixture could dry out or evaporate till the next time you need it to sanitize your bathroom. To give your cleaner a fresh scent, add fresh-cut herbs or flowers to the spray bottle before adding the vinegar.
  4. For tough stains, use full strength vinegar only. Fill a spray bottle with vinegar and spray the stained areas. Let it sit for about 10 minutes and then wipe the areas with damp rag. If you cannot remove those stains, consider using professional cleaning services to get your bathroom clean.

If you don’t have any vinegar available at your home, simply use warm water instead. This cleaner, although not so strong, will still be a helpful tool in your hands when it comes to bathroom cleaning.
