How to Keep a Water Bottle Clean

You may think that there is no point of this article because cleaning a water bottle is probably the easiest cleaning task ever but this is not actually true. It is important to know how to keep your water bottle clean because mould, germs and bacteria could appear inside the bottle which could directly turn into a threat for your health.

For instance, if you have not been using your water bottle for a while and when you’ve opened it a strange smell came from it then would you take the risk to use it without cleaning it first?! So, follow the tips below, given by London cleaning professionals to disinfect your water bottle and neutralize the bad odours coming from it.

1. If you have just bough a new water bottle from the store you should clean it. Fill it with warm water and add 2-3 drops of some dish-washing liquid. Dry the outside of the bottle with a cloth dampened with a little bit bleach in order to disinfect the bottle. Then fill the bottle with warm water. Place the bottle on the top shelf to be impossible for your children to reach it. Let the bottle to sit for about 20 minutes. Then rinse a few times with clear water.

2. You can clean your water bottle with lemon juice or a solution of water and some dish-washing liquid. Add 2-3 slices of lemon to the bottle filled with water and leave it to sit for about 15 minutes. If the bottle remains dirty you should use bottle sterilizer to clean it. You can find it near the baby bottles in any supermarket.

3. Let the bottle to air-dry upright. If you place it upside down on a towel bacteria could affect the bottle again. London cleaners advise to make sure that the bottle is completely dry before putting it back to its place – on the shelf.
