How to Get Rid of Berry Stains

There are many people who love eating berries, especially when they are fresh and juicy. However, these delicious fruits can make quite a mess. Berry stains are one of the most tough to remove from a fabric, and it may seem almost impossible task to avoid a permanent stain. Fortunately, with patience and a few simple tips, you can get rid of berry stains quite successfully.
Instructions

  1. Put a pot of water to boil on the stove.
  2. Stretch the stained fabric over a plastic bowl with the berry stain face down.
  3. Pour the boiling water on the back of the stain in a smooth, steady stream, as advised by cleaners Raynes Park. This will push most of the berry stain out of the fabric.
  4. After the most of the stain has been removed, soak the affected area of the garment in vinegar for at least an hour. If the stained clothing is white, you’d better use white vinegar instead of apple cider vinegar because no matter how well works the apple cider vinegar on berry stains, it can leave unsightly yellow stains on white fabrics.
  5. Take the garment out of the vinegar and squeeze out the excess moisture. If the berry stain is still visible, apply a small amount of non-gel whitening toothpaste to the problematic area. Use your fingers to rub the paste into the stain, then rinse well and wring out any excess water.
  6. Let your garment air dry in sun. Although, the stain should be gone by now, if there is still any slight traces of the berry stain, the simple action of the sun should remove these traces completely. Also, the sun will help neutralizing the smell of vinegar.
