How to Clean Spilled Black Coffee on a Carpet

Cleaning up spilled black coffee from a carpet might seem like an unbearable task, but  you don’t  have to worry. There are a few household items that will successfully get the stain out of the carpet as long as you act quick. Just remember not to rub the stain as this will only push it deeper into the carpet fibers, making it nearly impossible to remove.
Follow these easy steps, recommended by carpet cleaning Clapham team, to remove black coffee form your carpet.

  1. Soak up the coffee liquid immediately by pressing firmly a white cloth onto the stained area. Continue absorbing the coffee as utilizing a new cloth each time when the previous one gets saturated. When no more coffee comes out of the carpet, proceed to the next steps.
  2. Use an eye dropper to apply a few drops of vinegar to the stain, so the vinegar to cover the problematic area, but not to saturate the carpet.
  3. Wait for 10 minutes and blot up the vinegar from the carpet using a white cloth.
  4. Apply a solution of ¼ teaspoon of dish washing soap and 2 cups of warm water to the stain using a cloth. Treat the stain, starting from its outer edge and working inwards so you don’t spread the stain. Clapham cleaners suggests you to use a plastic bowl or bucket to mix the cleaning solution in it.
  5. Remove the excess liquid by blotting the stain with a clean cloth, then pour warm water to the area and blot again. Make sure to rinse the carpet thoroughly without leaving any soap residue behind.

Do not apply any cleaning solution to a stain before testing your carpet for colour fastness. Apply a few drops of vinegar, followed by the soapy solution, to a hidden area of your carpet. If the carpet colour looks the same, proceed to the steps described above.
