Finally, A Chance to Enjoy Scotland

I would just like to say thank you to two hotels that we visited in Scotland a few months ago. As many people are aware, business conferences are a great source of stress. I have been visiting Scotland for a number of years, but never really appreciated my trips until this most recent one. Sure, the country is absolutely beautiful, but when you spend all of your time in meetings it is pretty difficult to enjoy it. Thus, after discussing this with my boss, he agreed to give me a couple of days in Scotland to appreciate my surroundings. Staying at my favourite Hotel Dunkeld I approached the hotel staff on what I should see and do during my free time. Although they did have an extensive list that they commonly provide their guests, I made it clear that I was not looking to do anything too touristy. I was looking to experience Scotland from a local point of view: what it meant to be Scottish.

After a few minutes of contemplation and calling around to a couple of Short breaks Scotland hotels, the individual at the front counter had planned my entire day. He suggested a couple of the hiking trails in the area to allow me to take in some of the often neglected scenery, followed by an evening at a local pub to enjoy some of the traditional sounds of Scotland. I can not tell you how enjoyable this experience was. The walk was amazing, as it allowed me to see what made Scotland renowned for its beauty, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The pub was also a brilliant selection as it enabled me to taste some of the traditional dishes of Scotland, although I was not brave enough to dive right into the haggis.
