Cleaning Coffee of Oriental Rugs

A dark coffee stain on your oriental rug is one of the hardest stains to clean you might think . Well think again. Not only that it is not hard but it can be a lot of fun once you get the hang of it. Now I will share with you my personal recipe for dealing with this kind of spots.

As a start use a cloth, tissue or some kitchen paper to absorb some of the coffee that’s been spilled. Just tap the spot lightly until you get the most of the liquid out – don’t rub it in. Up next you can go to the part where you are starting with the actual carpet cleaning. Make a solution of 1/3 white vinegar and 2/3 water. Then apply it to the spot and try to rub some of the coffee out. You can use a clean rag or any other piece of spare cloth.
Make sure you use only a clean, damp rag. Don’t soak it in the cleaning solution because this will most likely spread the stain.
If the stain is old or the coffee was black try adding some dish cleaner but be careful to use one that does not contain any bleach. The bleach can and most likely will ruin your pretty carpet. If it still doesn’t budge, pour the mixture in a spray bottle and spray it directly on the stain then blot it. Go through this routine as many times as you need to. If blotting is not effective enough bring out the big guns or in other words – run the vacuum cleaner.
Anyway I am too lazy to go through all this commotion and work just to clean a stain and
prefer to call in a cleaning team that will do the work for me. Carpet cleaning in London would be a good choice.
