About Natural Cleaning Products

While commercial cleaners will help you to clean your home, they often contain harmful ingredients that can cause health problems when used frequently. Store-bought cleaning products can also be very expensive, reducing your budget considerable. You can easily save money by using natural products to make your own cleaners at home. Homemade natural cleaning solutions are just as effective as a store-bought cleaner, but they also are eco-friendly and less expensive. The most common natural ingredients are baking soda, white vinegar and lemon juice. Generally, these three products can clean anything in the right proportions with the right techniques.
Perhaps the most popular natural household cleaning product is the white vinegar. It is gentle enough to be used on most surfaces. Vinegar removes grease and soap scum, breaks down hard water deposits and eliminates unpleasant odours. Dilute 1 cup of vinegar with 1 cup of fresh water into a spray bottle, and use the mixture to clean cabinets, countertops, stove top and bathroom surfaces. Vinegar can also be used as a natural fabric softener according to cleaners Balham. Add ½ cup of vinegar to the laundry rinsing cycle for clean and soft clothes.
Baking soda
The second most used natural product is baking soda. It has variety of uses, from stain removing to deodorizing. Remove bathtub grime and soap scum by damping the desired surface and scrubbing it with a sponge and baking soda. Make a paste of baking soda and water to get rid of tough stains. Apply the paste onto the stain and let it sit for several minutes before blotting it off with a sponge. Open a box of soda and put it in the fridge to eliminate odours.
Lemon juice can do quite a good job in brightening white fabrics and removing tough stains. Make a paste of baking soda and lemon juice to pre-treat stains on whites before laundering. Then, add ½ cup of lemon juice to the washing cycle to boost the effect of your detergent and help removing the stains from the white fabric. Fill a spray bottle with ¼ cup of lemon juice and ½ cup of sweet almond oil. Use the mixture to remove old wax buildup from polished wood furniture.
